Doors that stick. Cabinets that need hanging. That light fixture still sitting in its box in the garage. I take the jobs the big contractors won't call you back about — and I do them right the first time.

Repairs
Damaged drywall cut back and rebuilt, holes patched and textured to match, rotted exterior trim replaced, soft subfloor made solid.

Punch List
Pre-sale repair lists, walkthrough punch items, and the running list of small things that have been waiting on somebody with the right tools.
If a project requires permits or a licensed trade, I'll tell you clearly — and I can help coordinate with an appropriate general contractor or trade professional.
Meet Tony
For eighteen years I worked as a massage therapist. During the pandemic a client referred me out to help with some property work, and I found I liked it — working with my hands, getting to know homeowners, and standing back at the end of a day to see something that wasn't there that morning.
From there I moved out of hands-on labor and into running projects: carpentry, cabinet work, repairs, full property renovations. The more I took on — running jobs, coordinating crews, solving the problems nobody planned for — the more I wanted the chance to do it to my own standard. When the company I worked for closed, starting Hands On Carolina was the natural next step.
My approach is straightforward. Show up. Listen. Understand what's actually wrong before quoting a fix. Then do work I can stand behind. Whether I'm restoring cabinets, rebuilding a rotted entry, or helping coordinate something bigger, I want you happy with the result and confident the job was handled properly.
I not only show up — I listen, so I understand what the real problem is. I want customers to be happy with what I do for them. Tony Godfrey, Owner
Recent work
Every photo is a real job. Some I built with my own hands; on others I ran the project and did selected work myself — each one is labeled so you know which.
Built a new front railing, painted the brick and window trim, hand-built matching shutters, and restored the grid and painted details of the home's older windows.
Replaced a rotted, cracked entry with a new landing and railings, then built shutters to match the home.
Restored and painted existing cabinets, corrected a previous installation by rehanging crooked cabinets, and completed the repairs needed to prepare the property for sale.
Managed a permitted renovation within historic-property constraints while personally completing porch flooring, interior chair rail, and kitchen cabinet work.
Managed a full interior and exterior renovation while personally completing demolition, insulation, window repairs, kitchen cabinet installation, and closet shelving.
Managed an interior and exterior renovation while personally completing kitchen cabinet work, exterior railings, and pressure washing, and coordinating the remaining trades.
How it works
Text a few photos and what you need done. I answer the same day — usually within a couple of hours.
A written estimate before anything starts. The number I quote is the number you pay.
I show up when I say I will, clean up after myself, and haul the old material away with me.
